I just watched this today and you’re right it was actually halfway decent. Jennifer Connelly was so good in it too, but overall I was happily surprised.

REALLY!!??? A “B”? I have to admit, after seeing 3 or 4 truly awful remakes of Asian horror films in the past year, I was downright terrified to rent this one. I just might check it out afterall. I do love me some John C. Reilly and Tim Roth!

I completely forgot about this movie. It was something I wanted to see, mostly because of Connelly, and of course I’m a sucker for a good ghost story.

What I’m finding interesting reading your blog is how often American films take an Asian film to remake or influence theirs. Is there an originality left in our culture anymore? It’s thoroughly disappointing.

Anyway, I prefer the psychological thrills over shock and scream any day, so this does appeal to me. Definitely a mental note to check this one out.

Having seen both the original and this remake I have to say that I wasn’t blown away by either. They’re not really bad films but not truly entertaining either.

I think I actually liked the remake a bit more, which is unusual really!
