I feel like having an anime weekend for this Labor Day, except I'm laboring all weekend at my job. Maybe on Tuesday I will have an Asian influencathon or something of the like. I have a special stack set aside for such things. I just want to have a movieathon now that we're done remodeling and moving the site. Meh.

BTW, I love that you can rate the reviews. I just added a similar feature to MM too, and one where you can specifically rate the comments! So you can boo-hiss-boo at people! I love the interwebz!

I'm sure I've screamed this before but I love Evangelion. It was my intro to anime so many years ago now so it holds a special place in my heart. I haven't watched this one yet as I wanted to wait until all the films were finished and just back to back them.

Honestly, I think I'll enjoy them. I don't think you could ruin the Eva universe for me. I get that it brings nothing new but isn't that the point? Last I had heard was that the final film would be a new entry into the mythology and the rest would just be a basic retelling.

All I know is that I'm excited for them!

Ahh. Evangelion. It's one of those things I feel like I missed the boat on. My friends all regard it as one of the greatest anime series. Me, I think it's ok, and parts of it have original ideas but it all feels so emotionless and predictable most of the time. I've seen the whole series and the followup movies redoing the ending, but not remaking it any better.

I've seen this movie too, and I actually preferred to it the earlier show mostly because the animatin was a bit better and it was condensed; although things were missing so much seemed convoluted on the first go-round that I didn't miss it much. It made everything go a bit quicker, and it was shorter. I was all for that.

I really want to like it, but it just doesn't feel like theres much really there. Making this also seems pointless. Why waste so much time and energy? Are the later films going to be signifcantly different or is this just a glossy remake?
