It doesn't matter how good the documentary is, I still believe it is just another form of propaganda. Why americans have the right of messing in other people business? Eating cows, pigs, chickens, and many other animals is OK, but they go to Japan, break the local law, because they think it's bad eating dolphins? Come on! What about the respects about other cultures? The dolphins are more importants than the japanese people? I don't think so.

I prefer to see a documentary about the killing of innocent people in the middle East by this nonsensical war. And what are the environmental people doing in Japan? Perhaps they think the war isn't the most contaminant thing in the world. Well, think again. In the Middle East there are animals getting killed too. War doesn't discriminate.

PS: Great site about asian movies!

All human beings should watch this documentary and learn from it.

There are couple of scenes in this film that you'll never forget for the rest of your life. Dolphins are intelligent mammals who communicate and interact with people.

Some of the stereo-type excuses I hear from Taiji have been "this is our way of life," "This is our culture," etc. This is not a strong argument. Civilized people "right" the wrongs as they learn. I consider Japan is a civilized society. I am sure that they will stop this unsavory slaughtering with strong public uproars.

We should be compassionate about what we do to other mammals.

I saw this during the Oscars too, and I immediately looked it up and got some information on it. I wanted to watch it, but after I saw the preview and the blood in the water, well I'm still thinking about it, but I think I'll end up watching it eventually.

Yeah, it is fairly graphic in some scenes. I know a few girls who are big humanitarians who would never sit through this film, so I know where you are coming from.

Sounds interesting but my girlfriend would have a fit watching dolphins be slaughtered. It's too bad that the question of why they do it is never addressed because that seems like it would be a major part of the problem.
