Creative Spotlight: Episode #21 – Luana Lani

Luana Lani was born in the Philippines, and grew up on the tropical island of Maui. Upon turning 18, she started modeling for local photographers. During those first shoots, she realized how much she enjoyed being in front of the camera. Shortly after graduating high school, Luana saved up some money and moved to L.A. to pursue her modeling career. What makes her so special and why she is featured in the Creative Spotlight is that she runs her own website, which includes edits, and an interest in graphic design. Don’t be fooled by her pretty face, she is one smart woman! Featured in STUFF Magazine, Playboy, and various import related magazines, I sat down and talked to her about travelling, working, and of course, Asian films! Scroll down to read the full interview.

What is it about Photography & Graphic Design that makes you want to persue a degree/production company in? Have you always been interested in the arts?

Luana: I like the creative aspects of photography and graphic design. It allows for freedom and discovery. I’ve always been interested in computers and playing around with images.

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Luana: I find inspiration from many different sources. Passion is something I’m moved by creatively, spiritually, and emotionally.

Is it true that you run your website by yourself, from designing down to the editing?

Luana: Yes, I do all of the work involved with my website.

The internet must mean a great deal to you. How do you feel websites and social media such as twitter and facebook add to the overall success of a model’s career?

Luana: Fan interaction and connection is important; people want to get to know more about their favorite models. Online social activity adds depth and dimension to the model’s personality, which I think can help a model build a stronger, more loyal fan base.

With all that said, what else besides all your hard work creating the site makes it special for members?

Luana: My site is the number one place to get exclusive, high quality, sexy content of me. I’ve tried to play with multiple types of images, so that my members can see a variety of different looks. The range of looks goes from girl-next-door, to glamour, to latex, to artistic, and to whatever else. I’m open to suggestions and I welcome ideas! I also add personal touches with blog entries and candid photos. Members have top priority when I respond to emails.

Are you a big movie watcher? Do you get down with Anime?

Luana: I go out to the movies pretty regularly! I love watching movies. I haven’t gotten into Anime yet, but I’d be open to watching it. Any suggestions for me?

What do you think about guys that watch anime that have art degress and run movie websites ?

Luana: I think it’s awesome! Art and movies, right up my alley!

You’ve been all over the world, and your travel schedule is hectic. Do you ever get to revisit Maui? If so, how do you like to unwind when you return home?

Luana: I make time to visit Maui about once a year. I love hanging out with my friends, going to the beach, and hiking or exploring parts of the island that I didn’t get [a chance to beforehand].

What is your favorite part about your body?

Luana: I don’t have an all-time favorite because my opinion changes every now and then. Lately, I’ve been told that I’ve got a cute butt – so I’ll go with that!
